World’s Strongest Violinist Evan Pittman today was awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for volunteer service hours he logged in 2015.

Throughout the year, Evan completed more than 140 volunteer service hours through his Musical Ministry program, his “Lift for Heroes” campaign with the Bob Woodruff Foundation, and a service trip to Northern India.  Phoenix Country Day School subsequently recommended him for the Prudential Spirit of Service Award for volunteerism; although he did not win the award for the state of Arizona, he did receive the White House’s highest award for volunteerism.

Evan’s Musical Ministry includes playing violin for elderly and disabled residents in nursing homes, playing for weekly Catholic church services, and playing the national anthem in various public venues.  Evan is expanding his Musical Ministry in 2016 by joining “Musicians on Call,” a national non-profit that will facilitate additional monthly violin concerts for ailing children hospitalized at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
