February and March have been busy months, with a road trip to Las Vegas for the High Stakes Diving Invitational, continued heavy training in pursuit of 100 world powerlifting records, and two days practicing and performing with the 2015 Arizona Western Regional Honors Orchestra. During this time, Evan also auditioned to play the national anthem at a 2015 Arizona Diamondbacks home baseball game.
However, the biggest adventure of 2015 thus far began in mid-March, when Evan left for a two-week service trip to Northern India over Spring Break with 12 other Phoenix Country Day School students! The trip includes visiting Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, and Amber, and completing light construction and environmental service projects in the village of Galthani while staying with sponsor families.
That’s two weeks of no training for the World’s Strongest Violinist, but it will be a worthwhile experience helping less fortunate kids and experiencing Indian culture (and a wonderful opportunity for a former military kid!).
Upon his return to the U.S., Evan will be back on the boards, and back in the weight room, training for the USA Diving Region 11 Championships on April 25th -26th in Scottsdale, and the U.S. Powerlifting Federation National Powerlifting Championships in Las Vegas on May 2nd .
