World’s Strongest Violinist Evan Pittman recently recorded a track for a benefit Compact Disc compiled by Arizona musicians for Musicians on Call.
The CD will feature performances by local Arizona musicians who perform with the national non-profit Musicians on Call. In Phoenix, volunteers with Musicians on Call routinely perform for patients at both Phoenix Children’s Hospital and at the Arizona State Veterans Home. Proceeds from the sale of the benefit CD will go directly to the Musicians on Call program.
Evan’s contribution to the CD is a two-song, Irish fiddling medley, performed with local strings musician Fred Coon, who played banjo on “Dawning of the Day” and “Solder’s Joy.”
The CD will be finished later this year. Musicians On Call brings live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities across the United States; since 1999, MOC musicians have performed for over half a million people.
